Jenna Fischer's most recognizable character is Pam Beesly in the highly popular television series The Office. The actress won two SAG Awards and an Emmy for her exceptional performance in the comedy's ensemble.
She was born and raised in Fort Wayne in Indiana. Jenna observed as her mom Anne performed in church plays. Her love for performance and theater began at a very teenager.
She's a trained actress who returned to the stage after The Office. The Off-Broadway production Reasons to Be Happy composed by Neil LaBute with Josh Hamilton and Leslie Bibb as co-stars, Fischer was the lead. Following her appearance in Steve Martin's latest production Meteor Shower (an absurdist comedy featuring Greg Germann and Josh Stamberg), she was then invited to appear in at the Old Globe Theatre's record-breaking world premiere.
The Office co-star Angela Kinsey and Fischer have launched Office Ladies, a podcast on Earwolf in October 2019. The show has been an enormous success, making in the Top Ten worldwide every week, and receiving more than 200 million downloads during the first two years. Office Ladies was awarded the iHeart Radio Podcast of the Year award in January 2021.
She is the writer of The Actor's Life : A Survival Guide (coauthored with Angela Kinsey), in which her journey to St. Louis to Hollywood and becoming a working actress is narrated. The Office BFF's : Stories of The Office by Two Best Friends that Were There is as well a personal memoir about Angela Kinsey and herself, and their relationship while working in The Office.
